 ***Please note: There is a $5 breakfast fee this year for all non-registered NYE family and friends who would like to come to cheer on their little runners and only join us for the pancake breakfast (children 4yrs old and younger are free )  Just click on the "breakfast box" in registration if you need to buy a breakfast ticket.  Breakfast tickets will be sold on race day too!***

Proceeds support Nancy Young Elementary early childhood literacy reading programs, technological improvements at our school, field trips and assemblies.

    1 Mile Fun Run - $20.00

            · Individual 5K  - $25.00

    · Family of 2 - $35.00

    · Family of 3 - $45.00

    · Family of 4 - $55.00

    · Family of 5 - $65.00

    · Family of 6 - $75.00

     

    *Same Day registration fee is $10 extra per person.

     

    * Example: Race Day family of 2 is $35.00 plus $20.00 = $55.00  

     

     

    There is no T-shirt guarantee for race day registrants.

    PACKET PICK-UP: 4PM - 7PM on Friday, May 13th at the NYE gymnasium.  Silent Auction items will be available for viewing at this time.

    RACE DAY & SAME DAY WALK-UP REGISTRATION: 7AM - 8:15AM on Saturday

    ParkingNancy Young Elementary parking lot & Oakhurst Sportscore across from school. 

    BREAKFAST:  All participants are invited to celebrate at a special party following the race.  Festivities will include breakfast, music, silent auction, vendor expo and more.
     
    AWARDS CEREMONY:  Awards will be given for the 5K race in the following categories: Overall top 3 male and female 5K finishers, and top three male and female student finishers in each grade level K-5.  Awards will be given for the 1 Mile race in the following categories only:  1st place 1 Mile male and female student finishers in each grade level K-5.  There will be no overall top finisher award in the 1 Mile, as it is considered our fun run for the students.  All children under 12 who participate in either the 5k or 1 mile race will also receive a medal when they cross the finish line.

    The Nancy Young Elementary School PTA is hosting our 9th Annual 5K/1 Mile Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk on Saturday, May 14, 2015.  This year, we are anticipating 500-600 people to participate in this family event.  Last year, over $10,000 was raised to support PTA funded activities and programs.
     
    All sponsors will receive recognition on our website.  Sponsors will also be recognized on promotional flyers and PTA Newsletters that are distributed to more than 600 families, as well as on signage and Race Day Programs at the event.

     VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
     

    Saturday, May 14th, 2016

     
    We are in need of volunteers to make this event successful. If you are interested in volunteering and you’re running or walking you may still volunteer, just let us know and we will schedule you accordingly.  (Even if you can come for just an hour, we appreciate your help!)
     
    Event Set-Up: Friday, May 13th 12PM—7PM Help in the NYE gymnasium with vendor table set-up, registration booth and awards table. Help in the MPR with breakfast set-up.
     
    Registration: Saturday, May 14th 7AM—9AM Help check in runners, pass out packets, t-shirts and race bibs.
     
    Silent Auction: Friday, May 13th 1PM-4PM and Saturday, May 14th 7am-1pm  Different volunteer shifts needed.  Assist with set-up the day before the race.  Day of the race work the auction, collect payments and hand-out items after purchase.
     

    Race Course Marshall: Saturday, May 14th 7:30AM—10AM: Stand along the race course and help cheer on runners, give directions and help any runners that might need it. Family and friends groups can be requested.

    Race Line Runner: Saturday, May 14th 7:30AM—10AM  Course Marshal Driver drop-off & pick-up, assistant to the DJ, assistant to the race timer, starting line front person, and finish line to pass out medals.

    Clean up after the race: Saturday, May 14th 11:00am—1:30pm Help take down course signage and pick up water bottles, clean-up in lunchroom after the breakfast and overseeing gym to make sure it is presentable.

    CALLING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS—Do you need Service Hour Credits? High school students that need community hours can get 3 hours easily by       volunteering at the race.
