KINDERGARTEN ENROLLMENT-2018-2019:   If you have a child who will be five (5) years old on or before September 1, 2018, he or she is eligible to enroll in kindergarten for the 2018-19 school year.

New Family Self-Guided Tour Night (August 7, 2018)


All families and children new to Young will have the chance to participate in the New Family Self-Guided Tour.

·         August  7 from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Families can use this opportunity to locate grade level classrooms, view the lmc, lunchroom, specials’ rooms, as well as to see entry and exit doors for your child’s arrival and dismissal plan. Parents can also visit the office to ask any general questions that they may have about school. Please note that teachers will not be present on this night.

In addition, the office will hand out directions on how to create a Home Access Account. Computers and assistance will be available to help parents set up their Home Access Accounts.


 August 15, 2018--Kindergarten Preview Day at Still Middle School

Parents and incoming kindergarten students are invited to the Annual Kindergarten Preview Day from either 9 am to 12 pm or 1:30 to 4 pm at Still Middle School, 787 Meadowridge Dr., Aurora. 

The following booths will be available: 

WALKING TO SCHOOL: Safe walk routes and safety rules.

STUDENT IDs: Your student's ID picture will be taken and ID badges given for the first day on the bus (walkers will receive their ID at school on the first day).

FIRST STUDENT BUS COMPANY: Learn how to ride a bus safely from Buster the robotic bus, information on MOCK day (riding the bus with your kindergartner before school starts) and more.


ONLINE BUSSING INFORMATION: Where to find your bus route online.

PUSHCOIN: How to set up an account and make payments online for meals.

Organic Life FOOD SERVICE: Walk through the lunch line and sample food.

YMCA SAFE and SOUND PROGRAM: Learn about the before and after school programs offered through the YMCA.


2018-19 Teacher Meet and Greet (August 16, 2018)


A Meet and Greet for Young students, parents, and teachers will occur on August 16 from 10:30 am – 11:15 am. 


During the Meet and Greet, students and their parents will have the opportunity to meet the teacher, visit the classroom, and drop off school supplies. 


The PTA Back to School Social will be held following the Meet and Greet.  The PTA will host a Back to School Ice Cream Social with Young families, staff and the PTA on the playground.


Kindergarten Orientation (August 21, 2018)


There will be a 1 hour orientation designed for kindergarten students on the first day of school.


Kindergarten students and their parents will attend the Kindergarten Orientation in their assigned teacher’s classroom. During Kindergarten Orientation, Kindergarten students and their families will learn about the Kindergarten day and they will take a tour of the building.

A-M: 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
N-Z: 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM

(If you are unable to attend during your assigned time, please feel free to attend the other orientation session.)


The First Full Day of Kindergarten will occur on August 22, 2018.

9:15 am – 3:35 pm 


Please note that kindergarten students will enter the building on their own.
